About The Blog
Create Advantage Library and Forum
This blog focuses on what management ought to be and ought to achieve. So why "create advantage"? Because the object of management is the business enterprise. And management's essential task is to produce an entity that thrives. In order to thrive indefinitely, advantage must be continually recreated. Think of ongoing destructive recreation.
Companies and management are both technologies, and as such, they both have an architecture. But unlike building design, our concern is not directly with the design of a particular state of a company, but the means by which it becomes and remains vital, relevant, and profitable—the means by which it achieves persistent advantage to thrive indefinitely. We are concerned with the architecture of these means. In this vein, you will find illuminating white papers, articles, and other materials about business architecture and what we call regenerative management.
The title Create Advantage Library and Forum reflects the intent of this blog. More than a discussion forum, this blog will build a body of knowledge around business architecture. We therefore begin with the white paper, "There Has To Be a Better Way, An Introduction to Business Architecture." This introduces the field of business architecture as defined by Kim Korn with Joe Pine's great assistance. We intend to add many articles revealing more about business architecture and regenerative management.
Along with substantive articles and white papers, the lexicon reveals a workspace Kim has used over his years of research to build his understanding of strategy, strategic management, organizations, people, and all other aspects of business architecture. It's a bit of a hodgepodge in places, it may not be up to date, or fully complete, but you may find it useful. I am simply making one of my workspaces public. Likewise, the bibliography records a few of the many sources I used in my studies and research. It likewise is not comprehensive, but again you may find it useful.
Please enjoy exploring the blog and reading what we have to offer. We look forward to hearing what you have to say about all this. Please join in the discussion.
